Are the "Enjoy Life" chocolate chips or the "Dream" brand of chocolate safe for IBS? Both are non-dairy but both have cocoa butter.

Saturated fat can be a problem in them;I eat a few choc. chips at the END of a meal and that's it. It's not worth the pain and upset.

I figured you needed to know the answer for Fall Festival/Halloween time maybe. Tough on an IBS youngin during special days. Rice Krispy treats can be eaten on their own I think (some brown rice in that brand, but not Trader Joes brand). I lightly sprayed a rectangle glass dish with butter "flavored" canola spray. Micro-warmed marshmallows with alot less canola oil/fat ratio than in Kraft's recipe, or opt. with some cocoa powder (not too much, bitter) to own taste and NO canola in a lightly also sprayed bowel, stirred in the rice krispies and spooned it into the dish pressing with wet hands..easy.

Thank you for the suggestion! No, it wasn't for Halloween things. I was looking for a substitute chocolate to use for chocolate chips in cookies or baking - if there is such a thing for the IBS diet. My 12 yr old used to have chocolate chips and almonds as one of her "go-to" foods. It was great when we were trying to fill her full of fats to get her to gain her weight back. But now she's still barely eating anything at all. These are hard days for us.

Yeah, before this, I had resorted to eating more fats to gain, (causing nausea and bad heartburn), which previously made sense to me. The G.I. HAD "ONLY" said "lower the carbs," thus, "additional" pain in years ahead. Finally, the soft and lower residue (much less gas) white rice at first and other more soluble fiber ratioed foods idea that regulate, thus stopping weight loss. So, now it's white Jasmine and Basmati rices to gain (and rice milk is good too, but also taking into account the enriched with calcium slows BMs) or stop future flare-ups;Then white bread (plus other soft grains, insides of potatoes, yams and rest of allowed more soluble foods in the book/cheat sheet if/when you can handle them). Fats at "end" of smaller than before meals and fat free or very low fat snacks. Definately the probios, also non-gassy "I myself think" acacia soluble fiber gradually being increased to stablize both constipation and diarreah from the beginning. That 3-day menu for those that hate to cook is easy. I mimicked at home what you'd get at the restaurants, only more trustworthy. The restaurant meals are meant to be eaten in 1/2 portions or less for youngins for sure, the rest having to travel home bagged, since many serve too large of meals. I can't over emphasize eating smaller meals more slowly and chewed well to help prevent spasms;Same advise for someone who just has an ulcer, which I didn't..but sure felt like it. OK, my rant to help everyone too, is now done Say hi to Rebecca Mom! (What's YOUR first name?)
