I know this topic has been broached before but I'd be keen to hear people's thoughts on Dr Mark Hyman's recommendations. That is:

1. Taking zinc supplements
2. Probiotics
3. Prebiotic fibre supplements
4. Fish oil
5. Multivitamins
6. Eliminate food intolerances (following an elimination diet)
7. Rifaximin

Dr. Hyman is annoying because he keeps claiming he has a cure for IBS which 100% nonsense

1 - not necessary
2 - moderately helpful for some
3 - as long as it isn't inulin or GOS
4 - not helpful for IBS but good for general health
5 - no long term benefits unless one is vitamin deficient
6 - FODMAP elimination/re-introduction diet is what he recommendd
7 - not use you have traveller's D or are one of 4% of IBS suffers with SIBO
