Hi all,
Has anyone tried SAM-e? It is a supplement that treats mood and joints. I want to try it however I wonder how it might affect my IBS-D. Has anyone had experience with it? I like that it is a natural product , but would like input from felow IBS suffers if possible!

You will have to check the ingredients label of the brand of SAM-e (S-Adenosyl methionine) you buy to ensure it does not contain any IBS unfriendly ingredients.

For example here is the ingredients from a Walgreen product

S Adenosyl Methionine Tosylate Disulfate , Tosylate Disulfate , Cellulose Gel , Methacrylic Acid Copolymer , Glycerol Behenate , Talc , Triethyl Citrate , Magnesium Stearate , Silicon Dioxide , Titanium Dioxide , Mannitol , Glycerol Palmitostearate , Medium Chain Triglycerides , Sodium Starch Glycolate , May Contain (+/-): , Yellow 5 Lake , Iron Oxide

Notice - it contains mannitol - a sugar alcohol or FODMAP - that is know to be a potential IBS trigger.
