Is two weeks considered long enough for a food trial to see if eating this way helps? Also is FODMAP easy enough to approach on my own? Syl I see you have been eating this way how is it for you and do you have any suggestions that might help. I have been ibs-d for 7yrs.

Actually the recommended time on the low FODMAP elimination phase is 6-8 weeks. I won't go less than a month. Yes it surely can be done on your own. I have been using the FODMAP approach along with the EFI diet for over 5 years now with good results.

One of the best sources of information is the iPhone/Android phone designed by the Monash University group that developed the FODMAP diet. 100% of the money for the purchase of the app goes back to IBS research and improvement of the FODMAP diet.

Here is a link to the Monash phone app. And if you join the Facebook IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) Support Group we have prepared a document with links to quality information.
