Good morning from Down Under! Guys I am new, and have been hunting through old posts. Lots of great info. My question is after always having constipation issues and then recently not going for 3 months at all, having a scope and showing nothing wrong other than mega colon and slow transit, specialist said it was sort of IBS. Thats as good as it got. Will taking the acacia help if I have mega colon etc? Specialist said not to take any supplements! Sorry, sorry know you have all heard it before!

There is a really great gut Dr in Melbourne I think her name is Dr Shephard and they can put you in touch with the right Drs to get a proper diagnosis. In the meantime, follow Heather's dietary guidelines. See if it helps you .I am IBS-D and also in Australia. I was recently diagnosed with having no good bacteria in my gut at all so it's hard to say if I will improve once my gut flora balance is restored. In the meantime Heather's diet is a God-send. Don't give up on this forum sometimes it takes a little while to get a reply but everyone is really nice and helpful.
