Question on insoluble fiber

Hello All,
I plan to purchase some broccoli and asparagus, maybe brussels sprouts too.
How much of these should I eat with how much soluble fiber?
I am thinking of doing this to help my constipation as I do NOT want to take the LINZESS that was prescribed for me.
Any thoughts?

IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.

Have you ever tried the Natural Calm? You can get at any health food store but I get mine on-line as the cost is less. Serving size is 2 tsp, but you can add more. I put a well rounded spoonful in hot tea every night and sip. The natural flavor is better than the "flavored" due to additives. Google it and read all the testimonals. It's magnesium and has great benefits for your body and especially constipation.

I've never read of anyone getting diarrhea from it. It's not considered a laxative, but helps to keep the stool soft. I would't be afraid to start out with a well rounded spoonful. Because it's magnesium it will fizzle up at first, so only fill your cup of hot water 2/3 full. Then add your tea bag. It has no taste.

High doses of magnesium can lead to diarrhea. It acts as an osmotic laxative. It is the primary ingredient in milk of magnesia. Notice even on the Natural Calm web site it says "Some people may experience diarrhea."
