Hello,

People are telling me that Aloe Vera juice is good for IBS. I Googled this and found this is not true!

Any thoughts on this??

Thanks!

Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.

I have occasionally used this over the past years mainly, with success for upper G.I. irritation that started after the IBS;It is the only one I'll use, 1/4C at end of day if needed, like 2X/mo. at most, taking away the stomach pain quickly:
Quote:"The thick greenish substance just beneath the rind in the latex layer of the plant is where the aloins and anthraqinones are located. These substances are irritants and when ingested can cause cramping and diarrhea and in some cases nausea. George's Aloe is a refined product. We remove the antagonistic compounds that cause the bitter taste and irritation to the tract." web page
