Posted this in wrong section before.

Have severe Fibro at the moment and upset tummy lots of D and bloating/flatulence and a naturopath recommended this Probiotic called SB Floractiv. She said you have to take it for at least 2 months before it starts to really help clear the gut out and that wheat should be avoided.

She believes if I still have issues after this then stool testing should be done and hopes that eventually I may be able to heal my gut.

Anyone have any experience with this?

SB Floractiv contains lactose (10% by weight) as a non-active ingredient. It may be a problem if you have problems with lactose in dairy products.

Weird thing is it initially makes me feel like it is drying up the diarrohea a bit...like it is almost trying to constipate me though i believe it is impossible for me to be constipated. But then...I get terrible tummy cramps and wind.

I had tests done and am apparently NOT lactose or gluten intolerant but blood tests said I might be a bit lactose and gluten sensitive. Dairy kills my gut so I avoid it. I will go off it for a bit and then try again and if my gut reacts I will know it is causing the pain and wind. Thanks for replying.

Blood tests are not reliable for determining lactose intolerance or sensitivity. This can only be determined by breath test or by excluding dairy products from your diet. Generally speaking blood test, frequently used by naturopathic doctors, are unreliable for determining food sensitivities. Elimination diets are the most reliable.
