However, overall vitamin D does not seem to play a major role in IBS. However, everyone in North America especially individuals in northern regions should take at least 1000-2000 IU vitamin D supplement per day particularly in the winter time. I take 4000 IU per day in the winter and 1000 IS upper in the summer.
