Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator     Re: New drug for IBS C - Syl       #369085 - 01/20/13 04:10 AM Edit Reply Quote Syl Reged: 03/13/05 Posts: 5499 Loc: SK, CANADA Linzess is used for individuals with chronic constipation or IBS-C only, that is for individuals with IBS with fewer than 3 bowel movements per week and straining, a sensation of incomplete evacuation, or hard stools during at least 25% of all bowel movements. The most problematic side effect is serious diarrhea. It is unknown if this drug is more effective than a laxative such as Miralax. Wow, do I have D now! I'm going to see what the doc says and if the side effects wear off.
