Hi. I am new to this group and trying to understand the differences between Heather's recommended IBS diet and the low FODMAP diet. I would appreciate any help you could offer. I have Crohn's and IBS-D.
My current diet is free of gluten, dairy, soy, corn, caffeine, and preservatives. I was low-carb (baking breads with almond flour)due to Crohn's until I recently had an IBS-D flare which I am trying to get under control with Heather's recommendations.

Welcome to the board

You can read about Heather's Eating for IBS diet starting here.

The first three links in my signature will give you a complete over view of the FODMAP diet. The FODMAP diet is more bread (fructan) and gluten free. The FODMAP diet was original designed for Crohn's and later expanded to include all functional bowel disorders including IBS.

I use the two together primarily following the low insoluble fiber and high soluble fiber from the EFI and then I integrate two diets together which is easy to do.
