Hi!

I just bought a box of Quaker's Whole Hearts cereal, but I'm not sure if it is safe. Here are the ingredients:

WHOLE GRAIN OAT FLOUR, BROWN SUGAR, CORN STARCH, OAT HULL FIBER, OAT BRAN, CANOLA OIL, SALT, TRIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, OAT EXTRACT, NATURAL FLAVOR, SODIUM ASCORBATE, VITAMIN E ACETATE, REDUCED IRON, VITAMIN A PALMITATE,NIACINAMIDE (VITAMIN B3), ZINC OXIDE, BHT (A PRESERVATIVE), VITAMIN D3, THIAMIN MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), FOLIC ACID,RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), CYANOCOBALAMIN (VITAMIN B12).

I'm concerned about the "oat hull fiber" and it has 3 grams of dietary fiber...but less than 1 gram of soluable fiber.

Thanks so much,
Heather

This is a high insoluble fiber cereal. It contians OAT HULL FIBER and OAT BRAN. Probably not particularly IBS safe.

Try the regular Old Fashion Quaker Oatmeal . It has 2 grams of soluble and 2 grams of insoluble fiber. I eat it every morning for breakfast.
