Heres a thought: if i already have so much water in my bowels from d, and am taking a fiber supplement, why drink a bunch? Wont the fiber absorb the extra water in my bowel and prevent d that way?

Water does not stay in your bowel. The excess water is absorbed into the intercellular areas or excreted in urine. Soluble fiber has a limited capacity to hold water. It cannot hold all the excess water.

You want to drink enough water so that your urine is a light yellow color - light enough that you could read words from a printed page if you held it behind a glass vessel containing urine. This is a method that is useful for determining if you are hydrate well
