IBS on a mission trip

This might be a little out there. I know there is plenty of information about how to eat out with IBS, but are there any good ideas for surviving an international trip?

I've had IBS-d since, well, pretty much forever. I'm now in my 40s and I manage the day a little better, but I still have trouble just about every day, especially in the morning.

I'm going to for a week to Haiti to build homes later this summer. Totally foreign to me, no clue what foods I'll have, and I know the conditions are horrendous, including limited access to potable water.

Any ideas, advice, and prayer would be appreciated.

Thanks
Coach O

Welcome to the board,

When I travel internationally I have found that I can usually get oatmeal for breakfast and grilled chicken breast, rice and carrots for other meals. There has been the odd time when I have eaten just these things for a couple of weeks. It was darn boring but it was safe. You should be able to get these foods even in Haiti.

Good luck and please tell us how your journey goes.
