I have IBS-C and was wondering about being tested for gluten allergies also. I haven't been to the doctor to be tested yet but does anyone know do I go to my family doctor? and how do they test for that?

Presumably you want to be tested for Celiac Disease which is caused by an intolerance to gluten. The initial test is usually a blood test which maybe followed by an endoscopy to biopsy the small intestine. Make sure you don't remove gluten from your diet before the test as it will effect the results. You family doctor can make the arrangements. You can read more about it on the page linked to above.

Also Syl for the past 2 weeks I did remove gluten from my diet to see if I felt better and I do, but what do you recomend now? Putting in back in and waiting to go to the doctor? And how long should I wait?

Best speak with your doctor. Removing gluten before the test makes it more difficult to diagnosis. Your doctor can give you guidance.

When you say you have removed gluten from your diet do you mean you removed only wheat or all grains containing gluten such a such rye and barley too?
