You could take Paracetamol for the pain as it won't trigger IBS symptoms. Eat small meals of foods that you know are safe frequently for the couple of days. For example, cereal with almond milk, toast and canned tuna or salmon shouldn't be a problem.

The sedation will have worn off yesterday. Did they give you anything for pain? If no then you will just have to eat careful for a few days until things get better.

There is only one way to know about the almond milk...take it out of your diet and see if you feel better. I have no problem with almond milk, but I am not you, and everyone is different. You are going to have to do a little trial and error on your own, because we can't answer what will or won't affect you.

I remember you asking alot of milk questions before. Since that time, haven't you worked on some trial and error where this is concerned, or at the very least kept a food diary?

What you have to do in this case is pre-plan and ask questions. In the past 6 months I have had a root canal, crown and 2 wisdom teeth pulled, and needed to be on antibiotics for about 14 days. I asked ahead of time exactly what drugs they are using, and find out what would be best for me to take afterwords, if I am in pain. It really does cut down on any surprises. I also insist with my dentist that I only be prescribed amoxicillin, since I seem to do OK with that drug.

If you do your homework ahead of time, and take charge of your own healthcare and decisions, it really does help in the end. I have walked out of many a doc's office because they would not hear me nor work with me.

I ended up not needing any of the monster pain killers, since the pain was not that bad, but I did not eat the rest of the day or night. I did my salt-water rinses, and took one Motrin and that was about it.

Just give yourself some time to heal, and eat lightly until you do.
