Cherries have more glucose than fructose so they don't have excess fructose. They do contain some sorbitol. However, if you are not having difficulty with peaches which also have sorbitol then it is possible they could be safe for you. I don't recall how you do with insoluble fiber. The cherry skins are high in insoluble fiber.

I have trouble with fructose but do really well with sorbitol. I eat cherries all the time, sometimes sweet sometimes dark.

According to this link:
http://huhs.harvard.edu/assets/File/OurServices/Service_Nutrition_Fiber.pdf
they have roughly equal SF and IF. Regardless I have eaten them on their own and have had no problems and I do normally have problems with excess IF per meal, so I think that Harvard link must be accurate regarding this.

now: stable through EFI+FODMAP dieting (no lactose/no fructose/some fructans and some polyols)

before: IBS-D(pseudo-diarrhoea), bloating, often unbearable pain esp from too much fat: Apr 2007- Dec 2010

[I've tried VSL#3 -> I could tolerate v good amounts of IF (even with less SF), it worked great (but overall I find it too expensive)]
