That's exactly my point Heather.
IF is not like fat. I know I could not handle mayo on a sandwich...even if the whole sandwich had 25% or less calories from fat. The mayo itself has just too much fat (10 grams per serving).
However, mustard and hot peppers, horseradish are not like mayo. They have 0 or under 1 gram of carbs and have no listed fiber. Thus to me, they seem perfectly safe and benign.
Likewise, cumin POWDER, brown rice protein POWDER, also seem far and away safe. They have next to no fiber at all and are very finely grounded up.

I just want to be clear:
Quote:
Mustard on a sandwich=safe Eating a package of raw mustard seed=unsafe
Hot pepper relish on a sandwich=safe Eating a raw red pepper=unsafe
Horseradish sauce on sandwich=safe Eating a raw horseradish=unsafe
Cooked polenta=safe Corn on the cob=unsafe
Cumin seeds=unsafe Cumin powder sprinkled to season meat=safe
1 cup of Brown Rice=unsafe 1 TBSP of Brown Rice Protein Powder (less 1 g fiber)=safe
Raw Spinach/Green beans=unsafe Cooked Spinach/Green beans served with dinner=safe
Am I right Heather? Isn't the implication from Syl that having "mustard/horseradish sauce" or "cumin powder" or "brown rice powder" being an unsafe IF food absurd or taking the IF rule WAY WAY WAY too far?
I just get so annoyed with how hard I try, how restrictive I make my diet, that somebody comes out and makes it seem like after years of EFI I am breaking the rules and now need to make it even more restrictive by eliminating MUSTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who told you that? I think people eat too little IF because they hear people with terrible D say how it bothers them. People with C should eat more- just not without SF. Never without SF. Things have changed here and not everyone gives good advice.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I bet I can guess since we all know who this poster is. C and bloating which makes him feel like a fat dude rather than a trim stud.

I was told that I am not following a proper EFI diet because I consume:
Horseradish Sauce
Horseradish Mustard
Mustard
Envirokids Gorilla Munch Cereal
Brown Rice Protein Powder
I mean, I am being told that by eating these foods, I am breaking the spirit of Heather's EFI guidelines.
I mean, are you kidding me!?
Yes, I am being told that even if something has less than 1 gram of fiber...it still can be high IF food!
Ridicolous!
