as i've only dealt with this pain for 3 weeks, i want to ask the female board members to weigh in on my question: does your pain feel like the worst menstrual period/cramps you ever had? would be really interested to hear what the women are dealing with, and if their pain/cramping similar to this? i feel like i've had "the period that never ends", as this is the way my pain level and cramping feels. thanks!

Hello happy2b
Yes, i agree... the cramps associated with IBS can feel like the worse mentsural cramps EVER.
i can get them so bad.. i feel like i am going to throw up!
I also find that during my cycle my IBS can really flare up !
I have been dealing with IBS for about 1 year.. but have never felt better since i found Heather and Eating for IBS, what a wonderful women.. you are onthe right track.
I am also currently in the middle of the hynotherapy. I just hit a bump in the road.. but starting to come around... but the hynotherapy is a LIFE SAVER!!
Read the book, the forum and follow the program!
So glad to hear that you found the site and Heather 3 weeks into your ordeal.

Yes, I've experienced that kind of pain that feels like menstrual cramps with IBS. Boy is that not fun! I also find that during my periods is one of the times when the IBS can flare up for me. Especially when I'm having menstrual cramps. It can really trigger the IBS symptoms for me. The one thing I've found that will ease the cramping (besides taking Pamprin or something like it) is using the heating pad. That can calm down the spasms and help.
