constant fatigue from IBS

as i am newly diagnosed, and have been battling through chronic pain for the last 2 weeks (despite being on anti-spasmodics),i feel tired, worn down every day.
i would like to hear from others on the board, do you deal with similar symptoms, low-energy, etc., for the first few weeks of getting an IBS flare up under control?

Are you sure it's not in part the antispasmodic? Levsin made me feel extremely lethargic. I was in bed by about 8:30 when I took it daily.
That being said, I had very little energy and just felt weak when my IBS was really bad.

yes, i had thought of that. have been on Librax, and i feel like i'm out in the "ozone" somewhere, and foggy. my GI doc suggested Bentyl, so am going to give that a go.
p.s., regarding stress reduction, which for me is a huge part of this, i have found that swimming (laps), really relaxes me, physically and mentally. just an fyi for those out there dealing with stress, as a part of the equation.
