High fructose corn syrup is a known IBS trigger for about 50% of people with IBS. This is not the same as saying high fructose corn is bad for everyone. If she wishes to read more about how any food that contains more of the sugar fructose than the sugar glucose such as high fructose corn syrup, honey, apples, pears, etc and some juices. If she wishes to read more how foods with excess fructose effect individuals with GI disorder such as IBS she can read the information on the web site linked to in the first two items in my signature.
I hope this helps. If you or she has more questions just ask

Read the section on Fructose in the first link in my signature for an explanation of the problems with high-fructose corn syrup. However, I believe you had a negative fructose breath test so it may not be as much of a problem for you.

So HFCS has too much excess fructose which is hard to digest?

It has too much excess fructose which cannot be absorbed into the body and then acts like fast food for colonic bacteria that produce lots of gas. Some times it produces diarrhea due fact that it can draw water into the colon acting like a laxative.
