High fructose corn syrup is alive and well throughout Europe but there it is called isoglucose or glucose-fructose syrup like in Canada. Unlike North America, Europe has a production quota. Only high fructose corn syrup from genetically modified corn is banned.

I had some bad gas after some corn chips a few days in a row. These were baked and no fiber. I've noticed a trend with corn based snacks so I'm not ruling it out. My symptoms are gas, bloating, cramping. It usually starts later after 8pm and lasts sometimes until 4 am. I often have IBS-C (not chronic), and sometimes D every few weeks.
I'm trying some elimination diets with wheat/eggs/dairy and will try fructose if all else fails. Can allergy testing help me with this?? Has anyone had success with allergy tests?

I checked with the manufacturer. The product does contain fiber but since they are using a serving size of 32 grams the fiber content is just less than 0.5 grams. The labeling regulations let them say it contains 0 grams per serving. The product contains about 1.5 grams of fiber per 100 grams. The fiber is mostly insoluble fiber.

I've got corn-intolerance (?) too!!
From eating corn starch I get nausea and diarrea.
I've got fructose malabsorption too (lucky me). I get very bad stomach pain/cramps from it.
I get the same reaction from eating sucrose (table sugar) as from corn.
I see Syl writes that corn starch is just glucose...
So perhaps my problem is (ao) glucose ánd fructose???
I cán eat rice syrup, no problem. (and wheat!)
But not: agave syrup (stomach pain), maple syrup (nausea), dextrose (stomach pain), fructose (stomach pain), sucrose (nausea)
Can anyone make any sense out of this??!

Just a bit of background information first and then a comment.
Rice syrup contains 45% maltose, 3% glucose, and 52% maltotriose
Agave syrup contains 56-92% fructose and 8-20% glucose
Maple syrup contains about 97% sucrose (glucose + fructose) and 3% glucose and 1% fructose
Dextrose is 100% glucose
Glucose is the most important source of energy for the human body. Usually problems with glucose are related to blood sugar levels which is indicative of problems like diabetes and hypoglycemia. Diabetes effects the GI tract producing some of the symptoms you mentioned. Have you been checked for diabetes and/or hypoglycemia?

Agave syrup is high in fructose. Maple syrup has a high sugar content per serving. The bacteria likes to feed off of sugar and create the stomach problems. You may want to go without added sugars for a while and eat more plain potatoes/rice/protein,etc until you feel better.
I'm not an expert on this, I'm about to do a diet to check on the same problems. Hope you get better!

Have you been checked for Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth? You may have a sensitivity to sugar. It's possible. I have the same problem. Fructose is definetely worse but too much sugar (like more than 10-15 grams Id say) will give me an immediate stomach ache.

That explains the agave and maple syrup. Apparently sucrose (1:1 fructose-glucose) is too much for me..? But I cán tolerate carrots, which also contains 1:1 gl-fr, I thought.
My bloodsugar has been tested a couple of times, it was just fine (like 5.2-5.5 after a meal or so). Hypoglycemia my doc doesn't really 'believe' in to be a real disease. But my bloodsugar is always around 5 when tested, so I don't think that really is my problem..(?) Also normal when I was sober one time (don't know the exact value anymore, but around 5). It absolutely seemes to be my stomach/intestines that's giving me symptoms.. (all symptoms started after GI-infection)
But I still don't understand how I cán eat as much rice syrup as I'd like and not dextrose (only tried that once in a larger quantity, but I can eat small quantities of it in processed food).. And no corn starch!?
Maltose/maltotriose will also be converted to glucose by maltase I guess? Just as corn starch, which I cannot tolerate..
