I was taking a calcium pill to supplement for not getting enough calcium in my diet. However I know there has been some mention that you don't need to take calcium if you eat a proper diet. I was wondering what kind of non-dairy foods to eat that contain calcium but are safe for IBS.

I'm currently stable but I was wondering if I could be eating a more balanced diet to make sure I'm getting all the right vitamins and stuff like that, that my body needs. I hardly eat any fruits or things like that so I was wondering if someone could share what a good balanced diet should be that is also safe for IBS. I'm also a big eater. I like to eat so I like things that will fill me up. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

Have a look at Calcium and calorie content of selected foods.

I drink juices that are low in excess fructose such as pure pulp-free grapefruit, orange and berry juices for vitamins. Make sure the juices don't contain apple or pear juice which is high in excess fructose.

and why does one slice of white bread contain 50mg calcium ,but one slice of wholewheat bread none? I thought wholewheat bread was the same as white bread plus the added IF in the outer part of the grain?

Some breads are supplemented with things like calcium and vitamin D. You should be able to tell from the label.

I really like the new Silk Pure Almond milk. It's really tasty and fortified with a boatload of calcium!

Thanks so much! That's what I've been using for all my baking and cereal and stuff. I didn't even think that it would have calcium. I should have looked at it. Thanks so much for letting me know that!
