Intestinal Spasms the minute I eat

The minute food hits my mouth I start to get intestinal cramping. Is this common? Sometimes I can eat something with now problems, other times it turns on me. Very hard to figure out what to do. Would peppermint caps help with this? I cannot find a pattern to any of this so far. Thanks

IBS-C Started out of the blue end of May 2010. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and GI problems are pretty common with that. I've been fairly lucky up til now.

It is common and called gastrocolic reflex which Heather describes on the linked to page. Peppermint caps might help a bit.

intestinal cramps. If you already feel anxious and worked up about eating it's easy to see how t could lead to cramps. I've been there myself.

It may help to try the hypnotherapy CDs or CBT.
