I've read that sprouted grain breads are supposed to be easier to digest. This, of course, would be a great compromise to being on the IBS diet and still getting whole grains, but would they be considered a soluble or insoluble fiber when using the whole sprouted grain? Anyone have experience with these types of bread products?

If you do a search for Ezekiel bread, you'll get a lot of feedback.

Ezekiel bread is awesome. I like to buy their hamburger buns and have them with tomato soup. Their hot dog buns and regular sliced breads are great as well. I never have any problem with them and I recommend them to get some variation in anyone's diet.

Thanks! I work at a health food store and we have tons of sprouted grain breads and tortillas, one of which is the Ezekiel bread line. I'm just starting the IBS diet strictly for a 1 month test to see how it works for me and wasn't sure if the sprouted grains was an option or not. I mean, it's nice to have the extra fiber if it won't cause abdominal pain...

So you both found it easy on the system then?

No, I don't eat these. I'm too afraid right now.

I think I'll just avoid them too since I'm trying to find out if this diet will work for me. I'd better give my best shot and be strict about it. After 20 years, I just want to feel better. Oatmeal and rice for whole grains it is!

Thanks!
