I noticed today that Ensure Protein drink formula is relatively safe. It says it contains dairy but it doesn't really. It had soy protein which some people may not digest well. If you are looking to gain weight or muscle it might work.

if it says it contains dairy how does it "not really" contain it? i bought it and it gave me D and gas...seems to contain it in some way anyway...i need to gain weight but gave up with ensure...soy ice cream seems to be helping me now...sure need help with more IF tho..i am so afraid of it..

I doubt the form of milk protein gave you the gas. It was the soy protein IMO that would cause that. That is why I say it is "relatively" safe.

Here is a link. The calcium and sodium caseinates IMO would only be triggers for those extra sensitive to dairy. I am thinking that form of casein is even less dairy than when it says plain casein. I think it is a calcium source that originally comes from milk and has pretty much no milk left unless you have a dairy allergy and would sense it. The soy protein may be hard to tolerate though.
