Natural Calm v Miralax

If Miralax died down after a few days and was not effective after 5 days, was wondering if Natural Calm is worth the try?
1) Is there any reason why Natural Calm would be better?
-How is it different and more effective?

well, which would you rather take: magnesium, or some lab-derived prescription medication with all sorts of side effects?
