Any particular digestive enzymes people here prefer? Anyone tried Digestive Gold? I have used beano a few times when I eat out and I'm not 1,000% sure I believe the waiter about what's in the food. Seems like Digestive Gold has more enzymes and might be more helpful. Not sure.

Any other DE's out there that you have tried and get good results with?

2nd question. Anyone had this test done:

http://ibsbloodtest.com/

Seems like an interesting claim they make. Diagnosing IBS with a blood test? Thoughts?

If this test is for real, isn't this a first step in identifying the cause(s) of ibs?

Cheers.

We can only hope. Anyone else heard of this test or know anything about it other than what's posted on that website?

It is an unproven test. It based on the notion of biomarkers for IBS. There have not been any research papers published in peer reviewed medical journals discussing the reliability and efficacy of the test. Furthermore, as of yet, few, if any, reliable biomarkers have been identified for IBS. If you read the scientific information on their website you will note that they claim it is only sensitive for about 50% of IBS suffers which really isn't very good.

The best diagnosis is to see a GI doctor. If you have already been diagnosed by a GI doctor then the test will be a waste of money IMHO

I really like GasStop. I used to take Beano, but would have to take at least four of them for it to work.

Do enzymes (and if so which) help with constipation/bloating/distension?

I don't see how they would help with C, but they definitely help with bloating.

Beano, I believe, has been great for me and bloating.
However, not only is it costly since I have to take two to three before every meal (and I have 5-6 per day) BUT I use it at meals even without vegies or complex carbs making me wonder if there might be a more effective product.

Gas-X makes a gas reliever and a gas-preventer....would that work?

Any good digstive enzymes?

I have been using Source Naturals Bio Align Daily Essential Enzymes. I take one before each meal and if it is a heavy meal I take two. I have been using them for 2 years with a lot of sucees with bloating, indigestion and helping with a high protein meal. I get them from the Vitamin Shoppe or Amazon. Hope this helps
