Arrived in Panama City, FL yesterday afternoon and so far its been an awful trip. I have a severe IBS/anxiety attack this morning. Mom and I had to return to the room while hubby and dad went to the antique car show. Anyone have any issues because of riding in a car for lon distances. It was about a 5 hour road trip. We stopped maybe 3 or 4 times during the process but only for a few minutes. Eating out is tough. So far I haven't even felt like eating when I get to a restaurant because my stomach is all messed up. I've been living off V8 Butternut Squash soup and chicken noodle soup and baked potato chips. Probably all bad but I dont know what to eat. Maybe I am not drinking enough water. I seem to be having problems more in the morning. I get a knot feeling in my tummy and crampy abdomen and feel like I have mucus in my upper stomach. Once the anxiety and IBS attack pass I feel fine. Today it lasted a long time though. "sigh" I wanted this to be a relaxing and fun vacation. Any suggestions??

Stop at a store and buy a loaf of French or Sourdough bread. Find a place that serves steamed white rice and have some. You have to keep save foods moving through your system.

I know how you feel! I have the same problem anytime I go away - a bad case of the runs. As soon as I get home I'm fine. For me it's the anxiety of traveling. I usually have luck with plain deli turkey and sourdough or bagel sandwiches. You could try jello, white rice, chicken broth, toast, oatmeal, crackers, applesauce, banannas, and lots of peppermint tea. Good luck! Immodium is also very helpful.

Today was an excellent day for my IBC-C. First I did not make any plans to be out of the room early. We bummed around and sat out on the balcony until about 9:00. I only ate a slice of white Italian bread for breakfast and about 12 oz of Fennel Tea. I only took my anxiety pill today and no anti spasmodics or nexium. We layed out on the beach and even went into the slightly chilly water. We adjusted or at least dad and I did. Hubby and mom watched us from the edge. Then I laid out in the sun and sat in the outdoor hottub. We walked and picked shells up on the beach. Then it was lunch time and we decided to go to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. This place had the most choices of anything I could eat since we got here. Not full of fried foods and not covered with cheese or butter. Their menu actually had several items that could be vegetarian, turkey burgers, boca burgers and some grilled options. I selected the fish tacos. Grilled fish insude a flour tortilla with lettuce. I opted for no sour cream and salsa on the side but didnt even eat that. It came with rice and a bowl of black bean soup. I ate one of the two tacos and half the rice and half the soup and then stopped. It was great. I brought the rest home. Walked around in the shops after that and then went over to the car show. We walked around a couple hours there and now we are back in the room. Cooking in room tonight.....chicken, potato and mixed veggies. Lets hope tomorrow goes just as smoothly.
