I read a little about slippery elm with a search..but I couldn't find much..I have d but not actual diarreah..formed bms, small round, really long and kinda thin,or large ones all the time..If I already have alot of mucus because of ibs, like sometimes I release gas and it comes out or somethings I think I have to use the toilet and its a clump of mucus that comes out..WOuld slippery elm still be useful for me to take?

Slippery Elm helps to soothe the digestive tract. It won't hurt to take it.

ok could I get some more info on this? do you have d? Even with lots of mucus it won't make things more slippery? I mean I can release gas and have a mucus blob come out.

whats a good ibs safe brand? I also have a few concerns, can I get feedback?

"When taken, slippery elm is easy on the digestive system. Slippery elm is said to be good for both diarrhea and constipation, as it softens and adds smooth bulk to the stool. Slippery elm also calms irritation as it gently coats the lining of the intestinal system."

if its good for d why take something that softens the stool? isn't d soft enough or at least the kind where u go 10 times a day with incomplete evacuation? I think my system is well coated with tons of mucus already! sometimes when I release gas or go to the bathroom a glob of mucus comes out!! Will things get more slippery?!
