I took the peppermint capsule and a half-hour later i suddenly got excruciating pains in my gut. The pain was so bad i thought i was gonna pass out. I got all hot and pale. It felt like it was stuck in my intestines and just burning. I believe the cause is because i have slow motility and it just wasn't moving fast enough. This has happened before but i took it another time and it was ok. The majority of the pain has passed now and i just have heat on my belly now. I guess i know now that it is not good for me.

Did you read the sticky post on the first page of the forum about peppermint capsules? That will make sure you are taking them correctly. However even if one got stuck in your intestines it shouldn't cause what you described. It isn't acid or anything!

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Some cannot take peppermint. I cannot. It may not agree with you, and have nothing to do with something you did wrong. I have acid reflux and peppermint exacerbates that condition.
