I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you get eggs from a farm that hand raises their chickens. How did you go about finding this farm? I really would like to find one close to me but am having a heck of a time.

I do the same free range handraised chickens, but the farm is near the house and I drive by it and someone locally told me about it.. you may want to google search with your city name included

I was buying eggs from a lady at work and then found the family that runs the feed store has hens so I buy from them at their store. $2 a dozen is average. You might be able to find something at Local Harvest or try your local farmers' market or drive around- there are always people with eggs for sale with signs about.
They are way yummier BTW and no cruel cages or stuffed barns as tight as cages.

You know I've always wanted to keep my own chickens but Vancouver municipal laws say no. http://www.omlet.co.uk/products_services/products_services.php
