Guys I am sooooooo sick of chicken and fish Is lean ground beef and lean ham an absolute no-no or is there a possibility that I may be able to tolerate them? I was thinking of just using a little meat as a "condiment" type addition to a meal, but I am just unsure as to whether or not it is an absolute that I will have stomach distress, or if it is a probable? Thanks for any help

Rebecca,

Only you will know for sure, if you try it, but you may get your fingers slapped for mentioning meat on this board.

only you can know for sure.. they are harder to digest and require different processes than what you are eating.. I'd try it when you can afford to pay the price in minute quantities and see.. personally- its not worth the trouble to me.... there are all kinds of other ways to get variety in my diet

It's not worth it. Red meat is a no no for a reason. And there is nothing you can do with ground beef you can't do with ground turkey if you know what you are doing. Same thing with ham, there is turkey ham. I'm sorry but it is a really lame excuse IMO to say you are bored with poultry. It just means you are stuck in a rut, not that there aren't things to do with it.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
