I know if you are ibs-c you should take calcium with magnesium in it. As far as brand goes I take Vitasmart that I got from Kmart. I take calcuim carbonate though for my ibs-d. This brand seems to do ok for me. I would be interested in what other brands people use though.

Like MRAE said, you should definitely take a calcium with magnesium supplement. I take nature's valley (whatever the green bottle is at wal-mart with the yellow label.) I got a big bottle of them. They seem to do fine so far! Hope that helps!

I take Caltrate with D, and it does have magnesium in it, but it may not be enough if you run towards C. I am A, so if I am in a period of D, I will use those, and they really help me. The Caltrate is calcium citrate. You can also buy supplements as calcium carbonate. I believe the elemental calcium in the carbonate is more, so you would have to take less pills. I take the citrate, because it seems to help the D more. The carbonate may be a bit better for the bones. I would have to check into it. I believe one is acidic based (citrate) and one is alkaline based (caltrate).

I would like to know which calcium is best for IBS-D TOO! Is it the Caltrate?

The Caltrate 600 with D works for me. Others may have different suggestions.

Im gonna try some fresh fruit today (i will cook it though.....im just so sick of frozen fruits and veggies )

My advice would be, that if you are regular (stable), and feeling good, then why bother with Align. I started Align when I was going through a period of D, that was really cramping my style. The first week on Align, I was gassy and bloated (which is expected), but then the D stopped, so I continued to take it. Now, I seem to be more on the C side. So, I really don't know if it is doing any good at this point. I guess I would have to stop if for awhile to know for sure. It is expensive, so if you are doing good, I don't think I would bother, it may mess you up.

Have you ever grilled fruit? It is really good. But, of course today on the 'stinkin' east coast it's all about rain. But, if you have an indoor grill pan, you could do it.
