I could not be any more sick of steaming carrots and mushrooms! I cannot eat them raw at all but I am so sit of waiting for water to boil and then carrots take forever to cook. Is there any other way to steam things that is QUICKER? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am really not much of a cook and have only attempted to become so because of IBS

I use the Steam Fresh veggies - throw them in the microwave for 5 minutes and they're done

I have a rice cooker with a steamer basket, and I steam my veggies in the same pot the same time I'm cooking my rice. I guess that doesn't really save time, but it saves an extra pot to wash! Maybe try expanding your veggie horizons too. Have you tried zucchini? Summer squash? Peas? Greens, such as spinach?
