I had an attack start Friday night and have been trying to stabilize since yesterday. I tried applesauce, banana, dry cheerios throughout the day along with Citrucel and tea. I had no appetite and kept trying. I spent last night dry heaving for about 30 minutes. I again repeated today the cereal and applesauce. I was fine this morning and now tonight it seems to thick to swallow the applesauce without gagging. I am again dealing with the dry heaves.

I tried to increase the amount of soluble fiber I am getting but it doesn't seem to be helping. Has anyone had it take this long to be able to get anything to stay down? I haven't tried the hypnotherapy but at this point I am willing to do anything stabilize.

That sounds like a stomach bug, not IBS.

I tried taking a day from forcing food in case it was a bug and that seemed to calm things down. Managed to eat 1/4 cup cheerios and a banana for breakfast. Had a glass of citrucel about 20 minutes after them and then some oyster crackers later. I was feeling much better at lunch be managed chicken broth with mushy carrots and some noodles. Supper was a bowl of rice since that sounded good. Things were fine until an hour ago when I suddenly felt like I had to go. In the past hour there has been three trips to the bathroom thinking I have to urinate or have diarrhea. There has been some cramping which a cup of chamomille tea seemed to help. Needless to say I can't spend the night on the toilet but I couldn't have drank that much today or ate that much to trigger the fullness. Any ideas?
