Link between breastfeeding ("milk let-down") and gastro-colic reflex?

I'm just wondering if there is a similar link between these two things, similar to how eating stimulates the gastro-colic reflex. My daughter is almost 10 weeks old now, and for at least the last month, I have not had to rely on Natural Calm to help me "go" in the morning! What a relief! Instead, during our first nursing session of the morning, I ALWAYS get the urge to go - and sometimes I have to stop her halfway through so I can run to the bathroom! Is there some sort of link here? Is it possible that pregnancy and childbirth "cured" my C??

Hmmm I thought so too after my last on e was born.Unfortunatly a few months after stopping nursing her...IBS came back.
My doc said it probably had something to do with all the good hormones coursing through my body...except when I tried going on the pill to recreate the situation...it made things worse.

My advice??NEVER STOP NURSING!!!!!lol as if

I remember the same thing happening when I nursed my last one. I would have to stop her halfway through to go to the bathroom. It was great to go with no problem, however it did not last once I stopped nursing. I think the hormones relaxes the colon and allows things to run more smoothly. I wish someone could duplicate that in a pill form!!!

My IBS also returned after I stopped nursing You could always continue to pump once or twice a day after the baby is weaned

Oh, and pumping once or twice a day would help me stay up a cup size too!!!

Interesting... glad it's not just me! I also notice that I can tolerate more foods that I couldn't before - like salads!!! Oh, how I missed salads!!! Yet another benefit of breastfeeding!
