I have found a couple condensed stock jars (same kind of thing but gooey not dry). One was at a large grocery store in the regular aisle and one was at my store in natural foods. They store well in the fridge and a dollop added to soy based sauces gives that needed flavor. The ingredients are just condensed vegetable stock and spices.
Any kind of bouillon would most likely be unsafe. They are packed full of chemicals and the like!

I just bought Better Than Bouillon Organic Chicken Base (the gooey kind Minnie described) at the HFS this week. Haven't tried it yet, but it appears to be safe. It has 0 fat calories, and here are the ingredients:

Chicken Meat & Natural Juices (organic)
Salt
Cane Sugar (organic)
Maltodextrin (organic)
Natural Flavor
Dried Onion (organic)
Potato Starch (organic)
Dried Garlic (organic)
Turmeric (organic)
Spice Extractives (organic)
