I can't imagine the singulair, flonase, or pulmacort would cause ulcers. THe flonase and pulmacort stay pretty specific to the areas you are treating. There are lots of great stress reduction techniques. I would be happy to send you some literature on this and names of good stress reduction tapes besides the ones Micheal has. I wouild need your address which if you are comfortable you could put on my email which is jmtw60@mchsi.com. In January I am taking a mundfulness course for 8 weeks which is also supposed to be really good for stress reduction, so I will keep you posted on what I learn.
I agree that Drs can get a little carried away with meds, although I haven't found any good substitutions for allergy meds other than shots. Homeopathic hasn't worked well for my family and allergies.
I do hope you feel better soon, and will be happy to share info with you on stress management as it tends to be a big issue for me too.

LOL I wish I could! My hubby thinks I'm nuts wanting to go somewhere to see a doc I've never met!

HI Ruchie! Things are ok with me. The IBS diet has really helped me. No attacks since July!! 
Unfortunately my husband has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and it is not going too well
for him, but we are hopeful that using Heather's diet and consulting with docs should help. I hope

The best way to find a doctor is through reputation -- word of mouth from friends or family, someone who's been to that doctor before -- maybe even through a referral from your primary care physician. If this doctor in Chicago is someone who's been recommended, you've got a step in right direction.
It's YOUR body -- YOU have to do what's best for it.
When I discovered I had a very serious and rare condition, I was in disbelief -- total denial -- but my doctor sent me to U.C.S.F., many MANY miles away from my home. I didn't want to go, but my doctor insisted because he said he couldn't help me.
That trip to U.C.S.F. was the best trip of my life -- and in fact CHANGED my life. I wish I had made that trip 30 years earlier; it would have saved me a lot of grief and pain in my life.

I know this isn't your area of expertise as far as the boards go...but I'm still willing to bet you've done some research on this subject and might have some good advice to offer me! You seem so well-versed on all stomach ailments!! To bad I can't make you my doc.....if I could, I would!
In any case, if you do have any info. on ulcers or any advice for me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks Bev! My hubby says he doesn't know what a good doc is supposed to be. He came home for lunch and I told him that everyone on the board supports my decision to find a new doc. Is it too much to expect from a doc that he should be able to answer my q's...and that he should make time to do so? What can we expect from doctors? My hubby, thank G-d, is VERY healthy and rarely goes to docs (his whole fam is this way!!!) So he doesn't know anything about the medical world and what to expect and whether or not my expectations are reasonable.
If y'all could help me make a detailed checklist from patients like yourselves...maybe I can bring it to my hubby and show him I'm not alone in my expectations?!
