It was prescribed 1-2 capsules 4 times a day, but the most I have taken was 4. I found I had intense dreams on 4 and cut back to 3. It's not perfect , but I can function. When I asked my GE about Donnatal, he felt the Librax was far more effective. It does have librium, an anti-anxiety med, so it also helps with the panic.
