I know that looks like a silly question but please bear with me.
What constitutes 'stability' so you know that you've reached your personal maximum dosage level with the acacia fiber? Is it the fact that your gut is now 'quiet' or a normal BM?
I've been following Heather's diet for about a month and just got the Acacia Fiber this week and started taking it on Monday. I'm doing 1/2 teaspoon in the morning and another in the evening. My stomach and gut are so quiet! Its like nothing is happening. I'm so used to tummy rumblings and things moving and sometimes cramping...now there is nothing! There is some random minor gas and I sometimes feel something is working but its barely noticeable! I 'went' yesterday morning. Not exactly normal but it wasn't D and it wasn't painful constipation either.
I guess what I want to know is does the 'quietness' equal stability and does that mean I stay at the present dose or should I keep upping the dose until I feel that 'everything' is back to normal?
And I think the acacia has helped my acid reflux if that is possible!
Thanks for the help...

It's not a dumb question...I'm new and just started the powder too and had the same question come to mind so I'm glad you asked..anyone?
P.S. If you haven't tried the fennel/peppermint teas and the peppermint capsules, you should, they have really offered relief and comfort, just started a week ago.

Maybe we can just post back and forth to each other until we get noticed... I'm glad someone else was wondering about this.
I tried the teas. They do help a great deal.

hi, i wish i could say the same as you. I started taking ACACIA too, but i started with 1 teaspoon in the morning and 1 teaspoon in the evening. Maybe its too much. I dont know, I thought it was the starting dose. I am not experiencing what u are so maybe u really are stable. who knows. I wish Heather would reply to u as I would like to know too!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started off with two half tps a day and increased it to 2tsp three times a day. I considered myself stable when my pain eased off and I stopped having sudden urgent needs to go to the bathroom.

I don't know for sure, so maybe Heather will chime in, but I'm thinking that "stable" means when you no longer have attacks of D (if you're a D) or when you go regularly (if you're a C) AND when you can be a little more daring with your food options without triggering bloating/gas/diarrhea, etc. The whole point of stabilization, I think, is to be able to add more IF into your diet. So maybe a low dose helps with D, but more may be needed to be able to start eating more veggies, for example.
