Hi Everyone,

I have not posted in quite awhile because I was so frustrated. I would be sympton free for a few days at a time, but then most of the time I would be in pain with the pain shooting down my legs & up my back.

I am now symptom free most of the time, and a much happier person. What changed?

I was put on an anti-depressant. I went through 4 (yes,4)rounds of the hypnotherapy tape. I stay true to the IBS diet, and do not cheat. I take the Acacia SF, two tablespoons a day. I do yoga in the morning and at night. I escape to the North Georgia Mountains every weekend. I watch the trees grow. I marvel at nature. I have established bounderies with my family & friends. I only "hang" with positive people. AND last but not least I quit my stressful job of CFO at a manufacturing plant.

It has taken me two very frustrating years to get to this point. SO those of you who are still struggling, hang in there,be positive, and never give up hope!!!!!!

Good for you! If you don't mind me asking, what antidepressant are you on? Thanks!

I am taking Zoloft. I have tried others, but this one works for me.

You Go!!! It's encouraging to hear good news and the steps you have taken apply to all of us. I noticed Monday morning, while getting ready for work, my neck and back muscles tensing, then my stomach - after I had been perfect on Sunday. It doesn't take a rocket scientist (although there is one on this board ) to figure out it was stress. I love my job and feel called to do what I do, but I've got to learn to get rid of the stress. I just bought a yoga tape for people with back problems, and hope that will help.
Thanks for the encouragement!! Blessings! - Dorothy

Zoloft has really helped me too, along with acupuncture. I take 50 mg per day.
