Breakfast: honey'd cornflakes with blueberries and vanilla soy milk (the soy milk is an experiment - almond milk has no protein and doesn't fill me up enough!)
Mid-morning snack: Envirokidz cereal bar
Lunch: chicken and avocado on rice cakes, banana
Mid-afternoon snack: peeled apple
Dinner: leftover lentil soup (from Heather's book - yum!) and who knows what else...

breakfast - a mix of plain corn flakes, old-fashioned oats, a little bit of granola for flavor, and 1t flaxseed, all poured over with rice milk snack - large banana lunch - piece of toast, egg/egg white omelet (I can tolerate egg yolks so usually I keep one for flavor) with cooked veggies snack - large banana, grapes dinner - toast with ham (same as Snorkie, I can tolerate as long as it isn't flavored), avocado, 1/2 kohlrabi (I might be pushing my luck with this one) snack - perhaps granola? I'm not sure yet...

What type of bread and granola do you find safe?
I'm jealous that bananas don't make your C worse! I miss them.
You are really inspiring me to try my "own" approach. Maybe forget about the GF and just try to relax more with the EFI.(like try a yolk or ham) I have a habit of keep on doing the same old thing even though I don't feel better.

bread - I've been doing OK with this Czech rye bread. It has some wheat in it, too, but I'm not sure what the ratio is. I try not to eat too much of it in one sitting, though.
granola - again, it's Czech so I can't tell you the brand. I checked the ingredients and this is what's in it: Oats, vegetable fat, raisins, dried apples, puffed grains (wheat, corn, sugar, wheat bran, malt extract), oat bran, maltodextrin, dehydrated lemon juice. So it all sounds pretty safe and preservatives-free, except for the bran. But the cereal doesn't have too much bran, plus, I only add a little bit to flavor my otherwise plain cereal.

I don't think they make my C worse, although I can never be 100% positive. When I'm supposed to get constipated, I do, no matter what I eat/don't eat. The joy of IBS I guess.

I figured that I've got to find my own diet. I treat the EFI diet as guidelines rather than strict rules. It's my own body so I should know best. I still have bad days (I just had a bad attack last Friday) but then again, I also had attacks when my diet was a lot more restrictive. My goal is to be able to enjoy as many foods as possible without triggering my IBS too much. That means that I'm not going to eat something that I know is a trigger for me, but rather acknowledging that sometimes I will suffer, no mater what. I would try to go off the GF diet if you don't feel better being on it. Maybe just try a piece of toast every day for a few days and see how you feel. You might find out that you can tolerate gluten/wheat just fine, and that maybe it was ingredients in some gluteny products that made you feel worse (sweeteners, preservatives, etc.) Good luck!

There's always a plate for you in Seattle Fen!
After much deliberation, I finally made peace w/eating white rice as long as it is organic. I spent 10 years spouting the merits of brown rice and the evils of white rice to anyone who would listen - and so of course now I find out that brown rice was contributing to my discomfort. Brown basmati rice does have more fiber, I'm assuming IF, of course and it takes twice as long to cook, so I'm gathering that it's coarser and likely to be hard on my body.
so I can live w/it if it's organic - not that it makes any difference, it just makes me feel better hee hee

Yeah, I don't think I'll find your food brands in the US. Is it store brand or fresh bakery?
Oh, I hear ya on the sick of supplement comment too. I am too...and so expensive. I take peppermint caps, triphala, digestive enzymes, gas stop, SFS (little), Natural Calm, probiotic.....Don't even know if they help
