We'll see what people say. too funny! LOL

Hummus is made from Garbonzo beans (chick peas) which have about twice as much IF compared to SF. On a stable day I can eat a little bit of hummus with a good SF base. Apparently others on the board say they can it with no problems. It is probably one of those foods you will have to try and see what happens.

Good luck

I make my own hummus, but a lot of store-bought or restaurant-made hummus has lemon as well as citric acid in it, so if those are irritants for you, I'd watch out for that.

Thats really funny Aly!! Hopefully we can get some answers!!

The hummus I just bought is gluten free all natural, free of artificial preservatives. The ingredients are: chickpeas, roasted red peppers, lemon juice, canola oil, sesame tahini, sea salt, spices, citric acid and natural roasted garlic flavor.

I typically dont have a problem with acidic food. Maybe this would be good to eat after soluble fiber or with something soluble?? Its just so yummy!!

Well I would think since it is pureed that would definitly help. I wouldnt call it a safe food to eat on a empty stomach but I think it should be fine.

Hummus used to be my staple afternoon snack. Just pair it with some baked corn/tortilla chips (try Guiltless Gourmet brand), pretzels, or pita wedges for your SF base. There are several yummy hummus recipes on this site that I used to make regularly. For some reason, pregnancy has turned me off to hummus, so I haven't eaten it in awhile.

Hi!
I loved it and found it to be safe! I ate it today with my turkey sandwich on sourdough and I just used some baked tostitos to dip.
The brand is Tribe- its all natural/gluten free sweet roasted red pepper hummus. I found it at Giant Eagle- our local grocery store. It was refridgerated in the organic section.
Theres a website: www.tribehummus.com

Good luck! Let me know if you find it!!

Personally I think the blending of the beans and the tahini being so 'mushed' makes it to me more SF. I have eaten it with raw veggies and raw veggies inside a wheat pita! But I am better with IF than some. I would start with SF sides and then try baby carrots and see how you do. Baby carrots are really yummy with hummus. We eat it all the time.
