spasms/pulsation in abdomen

Since yesterday morning, I've been experiencing what I thought were spasms in my abdomen. I've felt these before, but they seemed to be worse than usual. I wasn't too concerned at first, but I am still feeling them and this is much much longer than they usually last. Also, they feel a little different, and are much stronger than anything I've felt before.
It feels kind of like a muscle spasm, but sometimes it feels like a pulsation, and this scares me because that is a symptom of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Has anyone else felt anything like this before???

A couple of times I have awakened at night with spasms like you describe and they continued off an on with more or less severity through a 24 to 48 hour period. When this happens I usually end up with D eventually which helps them some. I also immediately switch to very safe diet. What helps me is lots of plain baked potatoes with a little salt, homemade or bakery french bread, plain white rice.

Sounds like you need to see a doctor. Do you have a regular Gastroenterologist?

I don't have a GI doc that I see regularly. I saw one once a long time ago, but I got your standard: "It's IBS. Try eating more fiber. Have a nice day."
The spasms seem to have diminished quite a bit today, so I think I may wait it out a little while longer. I just saw my PCP a couple of weeks ago so I feel silly going in again already.
