my mom and her bf keep going on about some dr.mark stengler. I guess he mentions something for ibs that is supposed to really help..i found this http://books.google.com/books?id=5y_b6U7KfusC&pg=PA416&lpg=PA416&dq=stengler+ibs&source=web&ots=kkz7mjYofD&sig=JjDZCigquDGGji3XHjfFdlQ1lNw&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result and didn't see anything I DIDN"T already know..anyway he talks about passion flower, do u think that is a safe thing or do you know about it?

What exactly is digestive discomfort? I don't know that I feel much discomfort besides some bloating or running to the bathroom because I crap a little here and a little there, mixed in with nice sized ones to skinny ones..i go everyday..i take regimint, heathers pepermint capsules, acacia, fennel tea, papaya enzyme.. If i'm taking all these things,is there any reason to add passion flower? oh,i don't drink cammomile, i can start doing that..other than that, any suggestions?

I don't think it can hurt. I'm going to check into it myself and see what I can find out.

Not sure, I don't think she checks the boards that regularly. Have you checked with a naturopath?

Just a quick search:
http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/passionflower-000267.htm#Medicinal%20Uses%20and%20Indications

This is a good article to read also, especially if you're on presecription or OTC medication:

Looks like it's good for anxiety, which makes sense for IBSers. I don't know one sufferer who's NOT anxious.

A naturopath is a doc that doesn't use synthetic drugs or surgery and usually focus on naturally healing different ailments. They would know about herbs and such.
