For the last few days my schedule's been crazy. We sold our house and are staying with my mom-in-law for a few days before we head to our new place. So the combination of stress, not always the greatest diets (no big triggers, but you know how it gets sometimes, we had to eat out a bunch, etc) caused my IBS to be really out of whack. Now that I have access to my MIL's kitchen and can have homemade meals again, I'm determined to really focus. However, my C's been horrible and probably will stay that way (just because I'm at someone else's house) so I would like to use something safe. I just notice my MIL has a box of epsom salt by her bath tub and it says that it can be used as an osmotic laxative. Has anyone tried this? Is it safe for IBS? How long would it take to work, and how much to take?

I know it's a form of magnesium so it should be OK but I figured I would ask anyway - better safe than sorry.
