You aren't getting worse - you are getting better. Insoluble fiber is a strong GI stimulant. I had a similar experience but now instead of being unstable all of the time when I was eating foods high in insoluble fiber I only have problems sometimes. I consider that a big improvement The amount of insoluble fiber you can eat is not a measure of how well you are doing managing your IBS.

Cliff bars work for me. I often eat one with a cup of fennel tea. I also like larabars.

Don't know how anyone can tolerate larabars with IBS.

Just found another new post about hidden inulin... (stealth fiber). Guess I am going to have to read EVERY label! Any advice on typical items it appears in? Guess I did not realize you also have to check chocolate!

Thank you both for all your wisdom you share with us so freely.

Careful with Luna bars - they contain inulin too.

Thank you for the reference. I downloaded the original research article. It is an interesting read.

I find I have to read the labels every time I shop even when buying the same product. You never know when they change ingredients or add some IBS unfriendly ingredient. Oh well
