so i was just thinking how lucky i was to find this site...before i did, and before i was diagnosed with ibs i couldn't understand what was wrong because i was eating what i thought was the most digestive friendly foods-basically i'd wake up and start my day with yogurt and black tea(which makes me cringe now), also before i knew it was ibs i looked up natural cures for D and started drinking alot of vinegar w/ water thinking that would work...wow, i would be lost without this

Before I found this site I'd started eating yogurt with Grape Nuts for breakfast, thinking that would be so healthy. And I just couldn't see any pattern in what bothered my gut and what didn't. (I was never brave enough to try the cider vinegar cure, though. )
Thank goodness I found this site and Heather's EFI plan - it's made a world of difference for me.

Me too!! Although I haven't gone 100 percent to the diet (planning on that next week), I was eating fiber, fiber and more fiber thanks go the docs. I was sooo wrong. I was eating insoluble fiber in cereal, etc...I'm so happy I found the site and books. Thanks Heather!

Before I found this website I used to eat all the wrong things - Raisin Bran and other super-high fiber cereals, whole wheat bread, Carnation Instant Breakfasts (which BTW gave me HORRIBLE gas and pain, yet for some reason I never made the connection and kept drinking them), raw vegetables, loads of dairy, and all sorts of other forbidden foods. Even after I found the web site, it took me over 3 years to actually start the diet. I'm so glad I did!
-------------------- IBS-A since age 12, and fructose sensitive; with the exception of my pregnancy, have been following Heather's diet since Nov. 19, 2007.
Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!
