I just made up 2 loafs of Heather's Chocolate Applesauce cake for my birthday tomorrow, it doesn't say anything in the book about storage. Should they be refrigerated, or will they be ok on the counter over night? I'm just not sure because of the huge amount of apple sauce it calls for..

Thanks in advance

I made this a couple of weeks ago, and it stayed fresh on my counter for 4 days (might have made it longer but by then we'd eaten it all!). You may want to put the 2nd loaf in the freezer, unless you are planning to eat or serve it all. It is SOOOOO good, by the way!

And Happy Birthday!

Mine unfortunately didn't turn out, I'm not sure if it's because of the humidity or what. I went to umm sneak a piece before I put it up and it appears to be to much liquid and not enough dry ingredients, I thought it looked a little wet when I was preparing it, but since it's my first time making it, I'd see how it turned out. I tried the piece anyway it's really not to good it has the consistency of glue.

So I just went to Wal-Mart and got a Angel Food cake.

Aw that's too bad. Maybe it wasn't baked long enough? My batter seemed really wet and gluey too, I had to bake it for about an hour and 10 minutes, then it turned out perfect.

Angel Food cake is good too!

I was thinking that too, but when I tooth pick tested it came out clean. I baked it for about an hour and twenty minutes. The only thing different I did was back them in my pyrex pans (lined with parchment), as opposed to using non stick pans. I've made Kree's pumpkin bread a few times using those pans though and they always came out perfect.

I'm sure the angel food will be good though

Happy Birthday!

I need to try this recipe.

I tend to lean towards refrigeration when in doubt. Bagels, for example, stay fresh much longer in the fridge than sitting out.

For bagels and breads I just put them in the freezer as soon as I bring them home (slice the bagels first of course )
